BS EN 16001 Energy Management Standard

Today more than ever, effective energy management is a crucial issue for the success of any business. For many, the answer is an Energy Management System (EMS) - a framework for the systematic management of energy. As well as enhancing energy efficiency, an EMS can cut costs and reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) providing you with a competitive advantage. BS EN 16001 Energy Management represents the latest best practice in energy management building upon existing national standards and initiatives. The standard specifies the requirements for an EMS to enable your organisation to develop and implement a policy, identify significant areas of energy consumption and target energy reductions.

BS EN 16001 also forms the basis of BSI's Kitemark Scheme for Energy Reduction Verification - enabling organisations to prove their reductions in C02 emissions from energy use to management, customers and regulators such as required for the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme.
