Display Energy Certification

Since 1st October 2008, all buildings with a total useful floor area of more than 1000m2 that are occupied by a public authority or an institution providing public services and access should display a Display Energy Certificate (DEC).  This certificate publicly displays the energy efficiency of a building using an A-G scale and is calculated by examining the energy consumption of the property as recorded by the electricity and other meters and thus giving an operational rating.

A DEC is always accompanied by an Advisory Report that lists cost effective measures to improve the energy rating and efficiency of a building i.e. adding thermostatic controls, improving building energy management, education of staff etc.

Our services team has a proven track record in completing DECs calculations and providing certification for all types of public buildings.

DECs are likely to be
required in:

Libraries
Schools
Hospitals
Museums
Leisure Centres
Offices and many more...
Display Energy Certificates are valid for one year.
Accompanying Advisory Reports are valid for seven years.
